Principal's Message

Dear Community School 111Q Teachers, Parents and Family,

The new school year is already here and we hope you all had a delightful and restful summer. I am extremely humbled and excited to be the principal of such a great school! Community 111Q enjoys a rich history of collaboration and cultural excellence that is the result of a collegial partnership between the school staff, parents and community members who provide a diversity of experiences for the scholars.

This year’s greatest initiative will be to continue to make strategic and purposeful decisions as a community that will enable all of our scholars to have complete access to a rigorous and enriching curriculum that will prepare the scholars for high school, college and beyond. The educational programs will continue to be academically challenging to engage each scholar by connecting the curriculum to variety of topics and experiences in each subject area. The scholars will be very excited to further explore new ideas and concepts that will be facilitated by their teachers during this school year.

Parents, teachers, support staff, and the leadership team all have an important role to encourage our children to become active learners. It is our sincere desire to provide expanded opportunities for our scholars to acquire the skills to become productive citizens in our competitive society. All members of our community must work together for the scholars to have the opportunity to be successful.

Through close and collegial partnerships with everyone associated with Community School 111Q, we are confident that we can make our school an even a better place for our scholars to learn and grow. In addition, we will enrich our scholars’ development through the continued integration of the Common Core State Standards. We will use our resources to enrich our English Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, and extracurricular programs. The character development initiative, monthly award ceremonies and field trip components will be added so that the scholars not only become more motivated, but more culturally and artistically prepared to be positive and responsible members of our society.

As we strive to reach our goals for the academic year, we encourage you to take an active role within our school community. We are certain this year will be filled with continued growth and much success. We look forward to working collaboratively with all of you to make this year great!
